    Management as a Predictor of Club Team Success Among Nigeria Nationwide Football League Clubs in Osun State

    The study investigated management as a predictor of club team success among Nigeria Nationwide Football League Clubs in Osun State. The study also identified the rate at which management influences team success in Osun State football clubs. Furthermore, the study identified the challenges facing club management in the study area. The study adopted the descriptive survey design. The population for this research comprised of administrative staff of Osun United Football Club. The sample size consisted of 140 participants. The data collected was analysed using simple percentages and frequencies. It is discovered that among all the factors that can influence the success of clubs in Osun State, cohesion has the most influence amongst others. There are other factors that affects clubs negatively which includes lack of funds and sponsorship, inadequate facilities and motivation. The study also revealed that effective club management policies and implementation plays vital roles in clubs‟ success in Osun State in the Nigerian Nationwide Football League. The study concluded that successful clubs in Osun State have cohesion in their teams and good management policies. One of the major challenges faced by the clubs is lack of funds and sponsorship. Another problem faced by the clubs is inadequate facilities and poor motivation among the team.
