In view of this, it is necessary to make a realistic assessment of how potential recreation resources can be developed for optional use. The use of forest reserves for recreation pursuits is one of the ways of relieving urban area in Nigeria which are grossly deficient in recreational forest reserves. There is evidence that urban dwellers informally use existing forest reserves for recreational purpose, especially those within reach of urban populace.
