It is the first inaugural lecture in the area of plant breeding in the department of plant science of this university. It is the first inaugural lecture to be given from my family. And the first inaugural lecture to be chaired by our present Vice-Chancellor since his appointment as the substantive Vice-Chancellor of this great university
