dc.description.abstractThis research examined various styles of Nigerian gospel music. It is aimed at discovering the fundamental principles in the performance practice and highlighting both the comparative and the traditional African musical elements. The study investigated the origin and development of the styles vis-à-vis the motivating factors. It also looked at their sociological implications; documented samples of selected styles and prognosticated into their future.
