Abstract
The study identified the major English sentence types used by senior secondary school pupils in Lagos, Ogun, Osun, Ondo and Ekiti States. It is also accounted for some important sentence types that were avoided by this set of learners in their writings and their other sentence formation needs. It was against this background that the study evaluated the presentation of sentence types in the grammar units of Senior English project (SEP), Effective English (EE) and Intensive English (IE) used in Nigerian senior secondary schools.
