dc.description.abstractThis study traces the evolution of federal finance in Nigeria, analyses the major political, economic and fiscal problems which were faced in the course of this development ( Chapter I to III), and examines the federal financial arrangements which eventually emerged and their impacts on the budgets of the federal and regional government (Chapter IV to V). The Nigerian experience is compared with the experiences of some other federations against the background of the general principles of finance (Chapter VI). The period covered by the study is from 1946 to 1966.
