Many plants and animals contain proteins and glycoproteins, termed Lectins, which 'are capable of binding to the sugar or carbohydrate moieties of glycoproteins, glycopeptides, and to other sugar-containing compounds (Dan et al., 2015).These important proteins are now attracting the attention of scientists all over the world because of the many interesting biological properties they possess as well as the many important uses to which they can be put in Medicine and the Biosciences. As a result, interest in this field has continued to escalate over the years.
