Abstract
The main objective of this study was to isolate and purify, through guided lethality assays, the major ichyotoxic principles contained in the fruit mesocarp of Raphia hookeri, Mann et Wendland. Arecaceate. The study also sought to elucidate the structures of the purified principles and propose a possible mechanism for their action, with a view to rationalizing the traditional use of the fruit mesocarp for fishing.
